What you can do on River

Event Campaigns

Spin up events around the world with just a few clicks. Community event templates and batch event creation make it easy to generate branded events localized to any city.

Crowd-Sourced Hosts

Let your audience apply to host and manage them in a lightweight applicant tracking system. Once approved, hosts take over limited edit access for the event and have everything they need and nothing they don't. Host ratings are tracked and ranked on the host leaderboard.

Host Guidance

Approved hosts are automatically guided to produce a great event with show notes, hosting duty reminders, venue recommendations, and automatically generated marketing materials.

Sponsor Marketplace

Partners can apply to sponsor a single event or an entire event series. Once approved, sponsors are automatically added to event listings, reminders, and user-generated content. Sponsor funds can be used to reimburse hosts.

Audience & Event Dashboard

Track your events, hosts, and attendees. Collect data about your audience including email, phone numbers, bios, social accounts, and any first-party data you collect in questionnaires during event registration.

User-Generated Content

During events, River sends an SMS reminder to snap a pic and post on social. The link is pre-filled to tag the community, sponsors, and attendees.

What community leaders say about River

“Dinners help me monetize while offering an incredible community experience—without me having to be there or create exclusive content.”

Troy Farkas

Host @seacoaststories | FMR: @espn @spotify | Yoga Teacher | Public Speaker | Podcast Consultant

"What made this hackathon special wasn’t just the scale, it was how personal it felt. River gave our community the tools to lead IRL meetups and they showed up in a big way. From Tokyo to New York, builders brought their cities to life and the River platform made it easy for builders to connect, organize, and celebrate together."

Mallory Loar

Head of Brand Marketing at Bolt

"We wanted this hackathon to feel both massive and personal, and we didn’t have to do the work to make that happen. The community stepped up, and the River platform orchestrated everything. It was a truly global experience that still felt local and connected in every city."

Eric Simons

Web engineer & entrepreneur. Building the future of how humans create software at bolt.new

"Utah Tech Week has been amazing (220+ events!) and working with River has been great. Thanks again for your hard work and responsiveness."

Trent Mano

Co-founder of Utah Tech Week, pre-seed investor/GP of Convoi Ventures.

"With River, our community can meet without us, which was key for us. Our content acts as a magnet to bring cool folks together, and all we do is serve as the finding function for them to meet. Folks did the first meetup and kept meeting on a monthly basis. This is amazing."

Shaan Puri

Founder, investor, & creator of the My First Million podcast

"For the 10th anniversary of my podcast, River helped run parties around the world in more than 180 cities! More than 4,000 people RSVP’d. I was able to join about 40 cities via Zoom for quick hellos and drinks (huge thanks to Rae and Ana for the quarterbacking), and I had a blast visiting in person in Paris. There are pics galore online!"

Tim Ferriss

Bestselling Author & Angel Investor

"River helped us have more gatherings than I thought possible — with just a bit of promotion we had 300 meetups with 7,000 people. River organized the free energy in the system while having a layer of oversight on the volunteer hosts and keeping personal info private. We were able to identify our most passionate Blueprint followers."

Bryan Johnson

Founder of Blueprint

"River helps All-In & This Week in Startups discover and activate the top 1% of fans, which are worth 100x more to us. We’ve been trying to find a solution for this, and “TEDx in a box” didn’t exist before. With River, 1 community manager can now do the work of 3-4 community managers."

Jason Calacanis

Angel investor, podcaster, entrepreneur.

"The stats speak for themselves — we've had off-the-charts stats on events, hosts, and attendees. River is the wikipedia of events. With open-sourced events, our community can host, edit, and suggest an event, all while have solid quality controls and data privacy in place."
